Monday Spitpaint Collection
30 minute spitpaints:
"Carnivorous Plants"- Two goals: One, I wanted to dig out my custom foliage brushes. Two, I wanted to add vibrant markings to convey a predatory/aggressor type. Probably my favorite spitpaint of the day.
"Medieval Snowmobile"- Well, I liked the idea but just didn't execute the depth I wanted. Really like the lines but need to address the midpoint area and snow strokes.
"Hamster Robot"- "Why stuff your face little hamster when the robot can handle 3 times the load for you?". I liked how the hamster turned out but I could have had the arm fading back into the background, to give it more depth. It's a flat image.
"Bring the Rain"- The AC-130 Gunship deploys a series of anti-missile heat flares before unloading the Howitzer. It forms a cloud formation also know as "The Angel of Death" I thought this idea was fitting but not too fond of the outcome. At least I learned something.

Sunday Spitpaints

"Mad Rabbit" -Nothing in mind really. I ended up focusing on his eye too much.
"Country Road"-Had the idea of a run down Route 66 and Kentucky Route Zero in the back of my head.

"White Forest"- Went out to Durham near DPAC and saw a holiday tree exhibit. This was inspired by that.

Rocket Car
30 minute spitpaints:
Topic was Rocket Car. I had two ideas. One was to show some sort of pit area where the rocket cars are being worked on. The other was mainly a chrome surface study.

Spitpaint Friday!
30 minute spitpaints:
"Oasis"- Sometimes the first idea isn't very good but I went with it. Really attempted to show a strong color palette and attempt a mirage/heat type of effect on the horizon.
"Harlot"- Topic was intriguing . Never really painted a subject like this before. Making something look interesting is a whole other story. I decided to put her in a alleyway. Why is she blue? My idea was to have her a colder color. Numb to work and life she's been doing for the past decade. I look to render this out more and fix her pose.

Spitpaint Sunday dose
30 minute spitpaints:
"Train of Death"- Not the strongest idea but I had to push through and roll with it. Main inspiration was "Gravedigger" I grew up idolizing that monster truck.

"Toxic Gas"- I kinda missed out on yesterdays topics. This one started as a "Rotten Creature" but morphed into a head on a pike. Can't beat that and it worked well with toxicity.
"The Longest Beard"- Straightforward. This is what happens when you don't think about the subject before trying to paint a scene. A bunch of nothing.

Self Portrait-Step 1
The start of a self portrait in ArtRage. I spend a lot of hours behind the screen with my music cranked. A good representation of my life for the past 8 years.
This iPad painting started with a quick loose gestural drawing to get a general flow and layout. That followed with a reddish orange base and see if I can let some of that come up through the finished piece. We'll see how it ends up. I was definitely inspired by Post-Impressionist today ;)
